Austrian parquet flooring manufacturer Weitzer Parkett, based in Weiz, is cutting staff. The traditional company announced layoffs of a significant number of employees, but did not disclose exact figures. The dismissals are part of the difficult situation in the wood industry, which is suffering from weak construction activity and high energy costs. Weitzer Parkett manufactures multilayer parquet floors and planks for the European market at its Styrian location.
