Hettich has consolidated its order infrastructure into four distinct channels: an online shop with customer-specific pricing, EDI/EDIFACT system integration, CSV file upload via email, and authorised trade partners. The move addresses varying IT capabilities and procurement workflows across the joinery, shopfitting and furniture manufacturing sectors.

eShop: real-time stock and order history access

The Hettich online shop provides registered customers with 24/7 ordering capability, displaying individual negotiated pricing, live lead times and warehouse stock levels. Users can place orders via basket, upload CSV files for bulk orders, or retrieve previous orders through order history for one-click repeat purchasing. A quick-entry form allows rapid SKU and quantity input for repeat customers familiar with product codes.

Non-registered visitors may browse the catalogue, review technical data sheets, and compile product lists without login credentials—allowing specification work before formal order placement through trade partners. The shop presents product variants, accessories and compatibility information alongside availability status.

EDI and EDIFACT: system-to-system integration

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and the UN-backed EDIFACT standard enable automated document exchange between customer ERP systems and Hettich's order processing infrastructure. Orders, delivery notes, invoices and order confirmations transmit in standardised formats without manual data entry.

The system-to-system link delivers five core benefits: automated workflows that eliminate manual input and duplicate data entry; error reduction through direct IT-to-IT communication; immediate order processing with real-time document availability; supply chain transparency through standardised data exchange; and paperless processing that reduces resource consumption.

Customers interested in EDI or EDIFACT integration must contact their Hettich account manager to configure the connection.

CSV email ordering: templated bulk orders

For customers who maintain order lists in spreadsheet software but lack full ERP integration, Hettich accepts CSV file uploads via email. The supplier provides a pre-formatted template to ensure data structure compatibility with its order processing system. Once received, the CSV is imported automatically, triggering standard order confirmation and status tracking workflows.

Trade network: regional dealers and specialist distributors

Joiners and cabinet makers without direct Hettich accounts continue to source fittings through authorised trade partners. Hettich's dealer locator tool identifies regional stockists and specialist distributors within the user's geographic area. In selected markets, the "Retail Connect" function allows users to browse the Hettich eShop and place orders directly with trade partners through the platform, combining online convenience with local service and invoicing relationships.
